Did you all see Glee tonight? I so felt for Karofsky. He felt a lot of the same emotions that I've been feeling lately (but I'm not as desperate as he is).

If you didn't see it, I'd highly recommend it.

I'm almost Gleed out. I still like the music, but the plot lines are rapidly losing the entertainment value they once had for me. Erie, I hear you and am glad the episode resonated with you. It didn't have the impact on me that I think it was meant to have because it was part of what I'm calling the soap box Glee. I just want them to sing.

Moved on from GLEE some months back, now am hooked on SMASH.

On GLEE, I thought the plots were too contrived for sensationalism; the singing too edgy sometimes for my interest and taste, and frankly, after 3 seasons these were the oldest seniors I ever laid eyes on.

There were a lot of topics covered in last night's episode of GLEE...The highlight for me was the singing competition. I would have liked to have heard more from the singers at "Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrows" for they seemed so excited with their 3rd place finish... The part of posting doctored nude pictures of Finn on the internet to get Rachael to drop out of the competition was really silly as was Sue's announcement that she's pregnant, and Rachael's race to get married. As I said, a lot was covered... Although it was becoming predictable, the reasons for the suicide attempt were on target for today's teens. Also predictable was the ending with Gwen texting while driving... The strong message about the consequences of bullying and texting were well portrayed ... I thought the game the students played "where do you see yourself in 10 years?" was a good example of showing that "it does get better".... Someone in this thread mentioned SMASH, I enjoyed the 1st episode but now it's putting me to sleep.

I guess maybe last night's episode really hit me because I'm finally dealing (with the aid of a great shrink) with 30+ years of self-hatred, some (but not all) includes being gay. It really is hard to live when you see yourself, and others tell you, that you are an abomination. And in my case, it comes from both the straight and the gay world. I'm pretty heavy, and I have definitely felt the rejection that comes from gays for being fat. It's almost as bad as the rejection that comes from the religious world for being gay.

Come on now.. don't you remember the first "big" high school show, the original 90210? You had 30-somethings playing high school. At least with Glee, most of them are in early to mid 20's..

Honestly, I could not watch Glee any more, but I am glad (and hopeful) that the show strikes a note for you. Not everyone who is into other dudes has a problem with guys who are overweight. Some of us actually value good people of all sizes. I wish you luck on your journey, and I hope that you find a path that will help you feel better about who you are.
