I mean as in castrated (surgical, chemical, radiation) or even total surgical removal of the penis and testicles. Basically as the en.wikipedia article discusses the term. But more towards just the testicles.

Oh - and I should start.

1. Yes

2. Very possible

Based on your reply and explanation, I would say NO to both, as Balls are an extreme element of arousal and pleasure for me

Before the term was clarified JJK, I was gonna post that both of us were definitely on the wrong thread.

Gives me the shivers just thinking about it, but different strokes for different folks

Bos, in a thread I had started awhile back, I had asked if a partners Balls were important to a persons arousal and sexual satisfaction. Most replied that they didnt care about a guys Balls. So that certainly can reflect on the OP's question here... However for ME, NO Balls = NO Go

I agree. Absolutely essential. Bottom or Top. Oral or Anal. Very important part of my most enjoyable sexual experiences.

Would you consider hiring a provider whom you knew to be a eunuch?

1. Who advertises as a masseur?

2. Who advertises as an escort?

No, no, and no.

A little different slant to the initial inquiry.

Some ancient societies "cultivated" eunuchs for the sole purpose of providing companionship to the elite class. It's probably reasonable to assume their lengthy training included various forms of sexual activity.

I haven't been very successful in finding art or photos of eunuchs. Probably the best known example is that of the eunuch Bagoas who appears in the movie "Alexander". He's a good subject because there is some known history of him.

There was obviously something in his training and character that made him desirable to his initial master (Darius - King of Persia) and later to Alexander.

The link below is to a digital painting of Bagoas.

He may not be "your type" - that's really not the point. There were likely many different "types" of eunuchs during that era. The real point now in my inquiry is the concept.

Wouldn't it be interesting to receive the attention of such a person (who met "your type") that had received literally years of training to provide pleasure?

Really not so different from some contemporary escorts who really know their art.

Just different.

I would certainly be interested in such attention. But it would probably take an overnight to get the full experience - likely well outside my budget.

Would I hire him? Maybe to sing some 17th century operas. Sexually? No way.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Plus, from my graduate studies on castrati, they really didn't function well in the sexual arena except for as passive partners. There were some exceptions but the physical effects of castration often left eunuchs without a sex drive to speak of and no erectile function even with just testicular severance or removal. The pictures we have of the castrati show them as physically distorted individuals often looking like big kids.

So for me, if he gave a great massage sure, although they definitely didn't have as much strength as regular men do to the lack of testosterone and bone density, but sexually, nah. Anne Rice made a good case for it but I'll resist.

No to both the questions raised in the orignal post.

Castration was done for several reasons that I was aware of---guards for harems of potentates and other polygamous men, the castrati of whatever century in Italy. I was not awae that eunuchs had been trained to provide sexual pleasure for, I assume, other men who were focused on anal sex, if in fact it was done. Interesting and I learnt something today---always a good sign.

I'm not trying to change anyone's response. But consider:

First of all I don't know if a castrated person can achieve a viable erection and sex drive (although I'm aware of anecdotal observation from animals that have been "fixed"). Age at time of castration? Erection possible with medication?

I do know that seminal fluid, which is the majority of ejaculate, is produced in a totally different gland than sperm, which is produced in the testicles. Those who have undergone vasectomy can typically still function sexually and ejaculate.

So, I don't know if a eunuch could be a top. And them receiving fellatio might be an issue.

So far, I've found no history as to whether sexually specific eunuch training was focused on anal sex, or fellatio or some mixture including a more ambiguous "companionship" similar to that provided by the Japanese geisha (whom were originally exclusively male). A male geisha - another experience that would be interesting - but I digress.

Maybe it's the term "eunuch". From a purely technical definition, the odds are pretty good we've all shook hands with a "eunuch" - or one that will be.

Granted, neither of the following examples are about a person specifically "cultivated" to provide companionship. But they may be someone you will come know during your life. Maybe as a masseur. Maybe as a sexual provider. Maybe just as an acquaintance.

One that comes to mind is testicular cancer. According to wikipedia it's the most common form of cancer in males aged 20-39 years. However, often only one testicle is affected - so "eunuch" may not be the end result.

Another is battlefield wounds. Body armor, especially the groin plate and ballistic underwear, were developed to counteract the effects of mines designed specifically to maim the groin area.

What a great forum for discussion. Thanks for reading.
