NYC - Club Escuelita To Close?

Today's NYPost has this story on Club Escuelita, the legendary gay club near the Port Authority, and home to Club 39. The State Liquor Authority is trying to put it out of business over two minor violations.

Haven't seen any advertisements for Club 39 at Escuelita either...

When I attended the 39 Club you used to have to show a text message to gain free admission. These texts were sent out ever week to patrons who signed up. I'm wondering if "W/T" stands for "with text"...

Escuelita will be missed. 39 Club will not - a classic example of a rip-off joint. Ridiculous drink prices, bored dancers ripping off clueless clients ("no, that was two songs, not one").

 

R.I.P. - you will, however, not be mourned.

Has anyone been there lately? Just curious what's going on. Any recent reports would be appreciated.
