FELA: The Touring Company

On Thursday eve I joined hundred of folks at the Marine Memorial Hall in San Francisco to experience the 34th Annual Holiday Concert given by the 290 voice San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus. Their performance was spectacular as well as phenomenal!

 

And from that stellar evening, I went ahead on Friday, 12.9.11 and became overwhelmed by the story and the music and actors who appeared in the Broadway traveling company of FELA, a musicial bio of a great and outstanding Nigerian musician who through his club and music helped those oppressed people overcome in so many ways.

 

When on Broadway last year, this musical amassed approximately four or five Tony AWARDS.

 

If you are in Los Angeles or Detroit, FELA is on its way. It ends its run in San Francisco tonight, 12.11.11.
