Recently my friend and I spent almost three weeks between Buenos Aires and Rio de janeiro and two other small towns in disparate countries, but I wanted to let future travelers know about the apartments where we stayed.

In the past we've stayed in hotels in both of the aforementioned countries. This time we got an upgraded penthouse in the Palermo area of Buenos Aires. We rented it through a gay/gay-friendly agency: http://www.ba4uapartments.com.ar.

I rented a one bedroom in Recoleta on Santa Fe Ave in 2010. ...liked this lodging equally as well.

When we journeyed to Rio, we stayed in a two bedroom apartment (2 baths) in Copacabana which was a mere 1.5 blocks from the beach and the main drag (Avenida Atlantica). We got our apartment through http://www.rioapartmentrental.com and for the most part was quite pleased. Ours was in a quiet complex, on the tenth floor, had an open visitor policy, and 24 hour doorman service. This particular apartment was right down the street from the office of the agency (which made it wonderful if you needed immediate assistance), and about two minutes away were supermarkets, internet businesses, a money exchange (travel agent) who DID not ask for any I.D. when I presented him my dollars although I had it with me, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. All of these places were right there; we did not have to walk too far or take any taxis to have these needs met!

The only slight complaint that we had was that there should have been more towels available for our use, and we missed the warm to hot water from both the bathroom sinks and the kitchen. Both places lacked these. We made do and improvised; we liked this venue more than not!

Aside from the culture and other activities, we found men in the saunas which had guys for rent as well as from the escort site: http://www.netgay.com.br. Independents are there along with a few agencies (equjipes).

In Buenos Aires there are http://www.ratonesonline.com, http://www.soytuyo.com, and http://www.leonos.com. Check out http://www.gayromeo.com as well as both http://www.rentboy.com and http://www.rentmen.com (Argentina/Brazil). The guys on the latter two sites tend to want dollars for their services; the range is from $100US to now $200- to $250. The latter rates are what Ivo Ferre desires. I saw him in 2010 for $100US. Find the reviews at this site for him.

I meant to write "aforementioned cities," but did not! Thought I'd made my own edit before someone else caught it and informed me! -:) -:) -:)
