As one of the resident Democrats here, I extend my congratulations to the winners tonight and tomorrow. You got more votes. The moment rightfully belongs to you. :-)

We will live to fight again. In the meantime, savor your victory. I know I would if the results were different. ;-)

Wish I could join you in this, but somehow I don't think those who voted to give the Republicans free reign over our lives will be having much to celebrate a short distance down the road. This is clearly a victory for corporate American, and big oil, and empire builders, not a victory for working Americans. We'll be off to war now, since Bush doesn't have a clue as to how to manage the economy. Reminds me of 1972 when McGovern told the public that Nixon was a crook but nobody wanted to believe it. They reelected Nixon and McGovern was right. At least in those days we had a Supreme Court who remembered what the rule of law was all about. Now we have a Supreme Court who anoints Presidents, and it's destined to get worse, if that's possible.

The bright side is that those who voted for these demagogues are going to pay for it in ways they never imagined. The downside is that the rest of us will have to suffer for their stupidity as well.

I agree with you completely.

I am really upset this morning that the American people could support the agenda of George W. Bush by electing those who have won. The economy of the country is in the pits, and Bush is bound and determined that we go to war against Iraq. I do not believe that the majority of the American people are in favor of war, and I know that the rest of the world is becoming very anti-American, partly because of this stand. And the crap with the big companies such as Enron is all being swept into the background and will probably be forgotten and forgiven my the current administration. Do you think it is because Mr. Bush is so beholding to big business and the corporate America?

I just do not trust the guy nor the people he has surrounded himself with. Environmental protection will not be supported, AIDS research will probably get little funding, and protecting the interests of those who funded his campaign will get top priority. And guess what, he will probably get re-elected in 2 years !!!!:-( :-(

My point was/is that Election Night and the next day are not the time for either gloating by the winners or sour grapes by the losers.

I find NO JOY...I repeat...NO JOY in the results of yesterday.

I was merely trying to maintain a modicum civility.

I'll have some post mortems of my own later on.
