Altering your Gmail addy for the sake of filtering, etc.

There was an interesting article in today's NY Times that points out you can alter your gmail address by adding dots or plusses in order to sort out spam or divine what got you on a spam list. The mail still gets delivered to you, but you can then filter as you like. Here's a blog posting on how it works:
