Is it just me, or is rentmen.com slowly going downhill?

The numbers shown in the "Search" box do not correspond to the number of actually posted ads

Boston has seven, and orlando 8, escorts compared to those listed on Rentboy.com and the amazingly outdated m4rn.com

Speaking for my area (NC), rentmen has indeed been declining for a while. They never achieved the critical mass to make it work, in my opinion. At their peak, there were perhaps 10-20 guys for my entire state; now that's down to 3. And not a one in my immediate area (Raleigh & Durham).

As for the discrepancy between the Search counts & the actual number of ads - I noticed slight discrepancies from the beginning.

As for M4RN - it's a poor site with terrible customer service (according to posts here) but you CAN identify the inactive ads (which show up last) by the lack of any contact info.

The amusing thing about M4RN is the "premium" ads that either link to nothing or to inactive ads. The site itself trumpets to the world that "premium" ads are worthless so why would any escort buy one?

Seems like a pretty self-destructive business model to me.

I'm not sure how you decided that the site trumpets that Platinum membership ads are worthless - they give an escort more exposure. Despite the short-comings, many of us use them because they're best option in our areas.

As for the 'self-destructive' business model - I see no evidence that they are in decline (unlike rentmen, which had the potential to be a superior site but doesn't appear to be succeeding).

That's odd. The number of listings may be going down, but anecdotally my number of new bookings from the site have gone drastically up in the last few months. Bigger fish in a smaller pond, perhaps?
