I woke up this morning, like every morning, and checked my emails. And I'm sure like many of you, I had my daily "deals" from the sites such as Groupon, Living Social or The Daily Hookup waiting for me.

 

Usually it's for restaurants, car detailing, movie tickets or the like.

 

But today's deal from Living Social for Richmond floored me. I've had to back and check just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

 

Half off a three course meal and tickets for two people to a drag show at the local gay bar.

It says we can buy two as gifts. Maybe I should buy a couple extra (of course I'm buying one for me and bf) and send it as a gift to our fascist governor and attorney general.

 

I wonder if Living Social will get any kind of push back from the religious right of the community just for desecrating their mail's inbox?

Well as of now, less than 24 hours after the deal was announced, they've sold almost 500 certificates. And in a relatively small town of Richmond, that's a hell of a lot for something like this. I guess this goes to the reason for the new gay site "The Daily Hookup". It certainly can show that we support our community and hopefully will lead to more "gay-centered" offers on websites like Living Social and Groupon.

 

Of course we could send one to Eric Cantor too.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your point of view), they don't serve corn dogs.

 

Just a couple of hours to go in the sale and as of now they are sitting at about 750 sold. Absolutely incredible.
