Signature Theatre Company has been doing a Tony Kushner theater reptrospective this season. Their Angels in America revival was a big hit. Now they're running a Kushner adaptation of Pierre Corneille's "L'Illusion Comique." It's an entertaining fantasy play of the 17th century French baroque period. They present it in period costumes - no updating in terms of the times - and Kushner avoids anachronistic language. I thought it was terrifically well done, with a nice twist to the ending. Among the cast, there is one total hunk beauty, Finn Wittrock, who plays a central character. No skin on display, apart from very shapely calves when he's dressed as a down-at-the-heels peasant lad, but one's imagination runs riot.
