To be a dick-head - I mean Me

I realize I'm being an asshole but I'm hoping some of the forum members and escorts who were at the event will allow Chi-Town to kick off a thread as it was his event and he did the yeoman's work to make it happen....Just my opinion...

Sorry if my post appeared to be an attempt to supercede Chitown. That is not my style and I have been a friend of Chitown for most of the time I have been a Forum member and we correspond frequently on and off the Forum and value our friendship for the mutual support system we have established between us. In fact, I texted him my congratulations early this a.m. which he responded to--all this prior to my post. I'm sure Chitown will post his views of the get together ASAP but he has a lot going on in his life right now.

If I have offended anyone, I apologize.

Sorry doit but I must disagree. As I posted on the thread Rick started a few minutes ago, to me who starts the thread is of little consequence. As long it was started by one of the attendees. And it was -- started by seaboy4hire (Greg). Bosguy is right -- ChiTown does have a lot going on in his life right now. that's why I didn't even text him today to congratulate him for fear of intruding in a place it would cause more harm than good. I think if we had waited for Chitown to start the thread, we could be waiting a while. I also don't feel it was necessary for those of us who attended the Palm Springs weekend to wait for Oliver to make the first post, even though the work in arranging that even bigger event, especially since it involves hosting part of it at his condo, was even more involved. Oliver deserved so much credit for what he put into organizing that weekend -- hopefully he knows how much his efforts and generosity in doing that work was appreciated.

I will take second place to no one on this forum in my admiration for the job that ChiTown did in organizing this dinner. As an "unofficial" behind the scenes consultant to ChiTown, and having put together the DC Forum lunch in January which was ChiTown's inspiration, I know what he went through. Hell, it was my suggestion that led to the date, after I discovered when IML was being held. But ChiTown was adaptive. Remember it was supposed to be lunch first but then several poential guests suggested dinner and eventually it morphed into becaming dinner. He alone made that decision based on input from members. He did the leg work to find the restaurant. He did so many things behind the scenes.

For me the glory comes not from starting the thread but from the admiration, respect and gratitude of not only the attendees but those of us who got to watch it from the outside. As for me, ChiTown has that and so much more.

Why am I reminded of the old joke: What does a JAP make for dinner? Reservations. (I mean, he didn't cook the meal, right?) :p

What are Rick and Derek up to tonight! Are they wrestling for control of the keyboard? Are they covered in sweat? Are they . . .? Oh, never mind.
