For those of you who advertize on RB, is it difficult tick the right boxes so that your preferences and characteristics (ie, Latino, top, always safe, etc.) are clearly indicated? I ask because I have lately been finding that people in NYC who seem to fit my criteria (according to the site) really don't. For example:

1. Guys provide incall rates or say "ask me" re incalls, but then tell me that they can't do incalls

2. Guys indicate that they are vers, then say they don't bottom or double their rates for bottoming

3. They have that little green light on indicating that they are available, but then don't answer phone or email, or get back to me hours later.

4. Guys who look like Conan O'Brien saying that they are Latino

The irony is that, because you can't rely on those indicators, the inquiring client has to send emails with questions, then get complaints about wasting time with queries.

This happens a lot to me, at least in NYC. What's the deal with those indicators?

As someone who is into kink, I have learned to discern what Kevin calls a lazy escort, and one who has taken the time to make sure his profile is correct. A slow process of trial and error really.

While I agree that is very easy to keep a Rentboy profile up to date and accurate, there are a few variables. For example I have an incall rate, but I can only do incalls at certain times of day.

For most of the other categories, I'd say they're pretty black and white. Although there might be shades of gray we haven't thought of.

I absolutely agree. Luckily, there's a free-form text field where you can explain anything that doesn't fit neatly into a checkbox. (I can travel to you anytime or host in midtown weeknights til eleven.)
