The current hot ticket at Lincoln Center Theater.... Saw it this afternoon. This is a really solid piece of theater. Based on a children's book, so the characters are not so deep or developed, but the stagecraft is immense and it turns out to be a bit of a tearjerker. As more than half of the play is set on the front lines of World War I in Europe, the cast is full of handsome, studly young men. No skin, but lots of handsome pulchritude. The life-size horse puppets are fun to watch, and the guys manipulating them are some of the hottest members of the cast.

If a play is lagging in pace or too talky, I have a tendency to nod off. I was absolutely alert here through-out two acts - it gripped my attention right off the bat and held it, fascinated and ultimately moved, right up to the end. A must-see!
