For some reason, I didn't take it as arrogance but more..romantic, perhaps? That's not exactly what I mean, but escorts often 'sell' a persona or sometimes a fantasy, not just a 'service'. Words carry diferent associations for us as individuals & in various contexts. Maybe 'service professional' has different associations for you than it does for me (I think of a plumber, for example).
