I am probably wrong, but I vaguely remember the picture of him relaxing on the boat from quite a while back. Is it possible that he was involved with "windy city boys" at one time.

It's possible that someone could have seen him in the last 3 months or that someone who missed the first threads could have seen this new one. Hopefully our pool of shared experiences is growing.
