Tax Refund

I finished my tax return using TurboTax. Electronic submission. IRS rejected return. Seems they insist, since I had earned income, that I submit Schedule M (Making Pay Work Credit). OK, so I do that. Return is accepted. IRS is happy. I am happy. Schedule M is a $400 tax credit - part of the Economic Recovery Act.

 

I was moved by devonhunter's recent post, and generous offer, regarding his willingness to assist in the Japan tragedy. Unfortunately I can take him up on his offer. But I did send a $100 donation to the Red Cross and will send another $100 when I actually have the tax refund in hand.

 

I know a family that has a young solder serving in the Middle East. So another part is going to a nice care package for him to share with his buddies.

 

And, finally, some escort or massage provider IS going to benefit from this unplanned windfall somewhat sooner than I had been planning.
