Dear Playwrestler,

Although I don't know you or the extent and nature of your problem, I don't think that a relatively untrained person who advertises on a gay massage site (which I use extensively) is the best person to help you. I don't know how many people "in the medical community" you have consulted, but I'm sure there are qualified psyschologists who can help you. I hope that you have been thoroughly examined by a physician to see if there is a physical basis for your problem, and I assume that your physician can recommend competent professionals to you.

I'm sure that "the erotic hypnotist" will follow the ancient medical dictum of "First, do no harm," but I wonder how much good he will do for you. Having read his ad and his website, I don't think that Neil would claim to have the answer to your problem, whatever it is. I'll be interested to see if anyone has had experience with Neil, and what he has to say. I suspect that your going to Neil for help will be like my grandmother's chicken soup remedy for everything: it probably won't help, but it can't hurt.

Let's face it....his ad says that you feel like you are experiencing sex without actually having it....in my humble opinion if I am paying good money I want the real thing.

I am sure for some he may be great....but I agree with what everyone else has said...go the doctor for your medical proiblems....get a real escort for your fun.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments. This is just something I wanted to try. Just to be clear, I am always exploring options with doctors... and yes I have recently started hiring escorts (wonderful times for me and I'm sure puzzling times for them... but we've always ended up having great talks <g>) The fact that nothing works, and has never worked, has not stopped me from searching. The fact that I seem to have a raging libido that seems totally unconnected to any physical responsiveness has made my searching somewhat quixotic! Neil the erotic hypnotist is a great guy -- I went -- and I'm sure is highly successful with most of his clients... hunky, gentle, educated and wonderfully compassionate and empathetic. However, whatever it is that keeps me from connecting to my own internal wiring also seems to make me completely unable to be hypnotized. Ah well, I left feeling refreshed and frankly a little more buoyant than is typical for me... no small achievement!

This same "masseur" advertises himself as "Neil the Erotic Hypnotist"

on a separate website, below:

The comments above relating to caution about a non-licensed professional speak for themselves. Over the years, I've seen various websites and Youtube videos advertising hypnosis as a form of erotic play, inferring a "master/slave" relationship. If anyone here is actually susceptible to hypnosis, this sounds like playing with fire.

Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of this guy? I'm thinking of going to him to help me with libido problems that seem to have no other answer, at least in the medical community.

Don't know if you mention Neil because of the article on him in this weekend's Next magazine, but here it is in case you haven't read it:

Total waste - neil hypnotist

I went and he blathers on about hypnotism for 30 mins -- basically stuff you can find on wikipedia. He is nice enough but dumpy -- that photo is WAY another time. You can see a SLIGHT resemblance to that body. I wanted a refund but he said that I went under -- which was not hard to do as anyone would doze off a little spending time with this one. I think there are some medical/scientific benefits to hypnosis -- i just don't think Neil is qualified to do it. My two cents. Buyer beware.

I saw a Discovery Channel feature on hypnotists, specifically, the ones who do stage shows. They, along with hypnotists in general, are scams. The stage performers do put the subjects into a deep state of relaxation, which does lower a person's inhibitions somewhat. The most powerful influence, however, is peer pressure. If the subject doesn't play along - like a guy kissing another guy or putting on a coconut bra - then there's no show and no fun for all the suckers who paid their hard-earned money for a ticket and were hoping for an evening's entertainment. Or the subject can play along - it's usually some "stupid human trick" that is embarrassing but not humiliating - and everybody has a good time. That unstated peer pressure from so many people is very powerful, and a person in a deep state of relaxation with lowered inhibitions won't resist.

Like all medical quacks, hypnotists take your hard-earned money yet give you nothing but a steaming pile of cow plop in return. They might not be harming people physically, but they are ripping off naive and sometimes desperate people. I hope you can find a legitimate physician or therapist to help you with your problem. I'm sorry to hear that anyone wastes even a minute of their time or a dime of their money on quacks like Neil.

Why in the world would you let a perfect stranger that you found on the Internet with no medical credentials hypnotise you. You are setting yourself up for trouble. Go to a real doctor.

Probably becuase the OP is attracted to HIM....Duh !!! and hey, gotta hand it to the "Therapist", he's got a good gimmick....

Didn't know that a NYC masseur works with Neil. People should be aware that his body is not the same as the photo these days. Could have been at one time. He had lots of protein powder canisters in the kitchen but evidently has been socking away the carbs as well. So if people don't mind some flab and a snake-oil salesman - then serve yourselves.
