Hey guys! Just want to float a trial balloon here. Both of my hot Randy Blue studs, Chris Rockway and Jeremy Walker, have expressed interest in separately doing an East coast tour (Washington, DC, then NYC) this Spring. Just trying to gauge how much interest there might be in both cities before choosing dates, and if such a trip might be cost-effective for either of them.

If you live in either of these areas, please write to me and let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Dave

Chris Rockaway has been a fantasy of mine for a LONG time, and the few times he has been east in the past, I was unfortunately traveling elsewhere - and sadly I never travel anywhere near his home base.

If either of these men was coming to NYC, timing is the major problem for perspective clients, like me. Too near Easter, I am stuck with family things, after Easter (eg. into May) I am freer to play around but have a few graduations to attend and then we get into wedding season.

Another issue for me is in "what" you get for the hour or two or more hours. Many of these guys charge top end rates (which is their right as men who have a public name from their films), but then you get (literally) more bang for the buck from someone less known. I learned the hard way long ago to calm the temptation of being with a porn star (I have been with too many, especially in Europe), and the experiences are simply not in the "Top 10" catagory.

I watch Chris, though, and listen attentively to others who have had the fortune to meet him. And I am leaning heavily towards a definite interest.

Before I moved to NYC, I made several trips flying into Boston, taking the train to NYC and then flying out of DC. Four or five days in each city seems about right. These were always very fun and very profitable, and I met a lot of great guys whom I see to this day.

Yes to both these guys in DC. Would be happy for some quality time with each.

Dave, it's great you are keeping DC on your radar. DC had been a wasteland for many years, but I am happy to see the word seems to have gotten out to traveling guys that there are plenty of DC-based admirers of good looking, nicey musceld men. In fact, one told me recently that he prefers DC to New York because his expenses and number of flakes are lower.

Hi Guys!

Finally have an update for ya. CHRIS ROCKWAY has an engagement in NYC and will be staying on for a few days. At this point -- it looks as though he will arrive on Friday, April 1 and depart on Wednesday, April 6, tho his flights are not yet finalized. Sorry to say he will not be able to get to Philly or DC on this trip.

I will keep you all posted, of course, in this forum and in the Escort Travels forum.

Call or e-mail me if you have any questions/comments. Thanks!

you are so right there, good ol boy. Philly is a larger market than either Boston or DC and yet both those cities seem to get more than their fair share of the traveling talent.

Not to hijack this thread, but what makes you say Philly is a bigger market than DC? Personal experience and anecdotal reports from friends in the biz would disagree, by a factor of 40%. I don't think it's any more complex than the Willie Sutton rule. Plus DC has more attractions than Philly, and hotels seem comparable if not less expensive in Washington.

Not trying to pick a fight, just explain the phenomenon.

It is not a fight. I just watch the travel schedules of guys who tour and see that they visit DC and New York. My question is why not stop in Philadelphia, heck it is right in the middle. For as many guys that travel I believe that we (Philadelphians) are greatly overlooked. If you want to find something to do here, you can start by going to http://www.gophila.com. I am not going to take the readers time and list the great attractions that we have here.

Hey Kevin,

what I meant when I wrote that Philly is a larger market s based on population -the Philly metro area has a population larger than DC (I think this is true). As far as attractions go, Philly has a pretty good share. And a LOT of terrific restaurants as well as a considerable gay population. On the other hand, the typical income in DC is probably higher and that means more discretionary moola to spend - our federal tax dollars at work ;-) -no disrespect intended so please don't take offense. Anyway, Im glad you took the time to write from a different perspective than mine. Enough of this - let's get back to the real purpose of this thread!

Hate to break it to you - Philadelphia Metro Population is 5.9 Million - Washington DC Metro Population is 5.6 Million - really close.

Philadelphia Metro Median Family Income - $45.5K - Washington Metro Median Family Income - $85K

Well that is still a difference of 300,000 people - not exactly inconsequential. But I have to agree with your point about the median income differential - since median income in DC appears to be almost twice what it is in Philly. Thanks for the info - it confirmed what I thought after all.

This is all anecdotal, but I used to know a couple of traveling escorts who worked a series of US cities. Each had done the I-95 tour starting in Boston to New York to Philadelphia to Washington, DC, but each told me separately that he was going to eliminate Philadelphia or curtail the visit substantially because they has a significant number of no-shows or people trying to bargain down the stated rate. The one guy continued to go because he had a very good customer who treated him well and that one guy made the stop worthwhile.

I heard the same comment about San Francisco (no shows, people trying to bargain him down), which really surprised me. The escort's theory was that SF was a very liberal town with a large gay population, so there was not so much need to hire talent. DC may have an ample gay population, and it is a bit more straight-laced, pardon the expression, so they relied on traveling hotness.
