You should look at the etymology of the word. But yeah in the South, we rarely use the word Penis - but "Peckerhead, put your tallywacker back in your pants." is a common term when telling your kid to quite overtly lusting over someone. It's quite graphic but consider polite slang in my hometown.

Tallywacker has been my favorite appellation for the 'one-eyed-muscle' for quite some time now. It gets the point across and often brings a smile to the reader as well:rolleyes:
