This is great. I think Phillip Spooner's speech is inspiring others to speak out (though she cites a son of two lesbians who had spoken in front of the Iowa legislature). I just hope that at some point, people other than parents of GLBT folks will start speaking out as well.

Thank you for posting this bc. She is wonderful and I think probably a perfect depiction: problems accepting it initially that her son is gay to finally realizing that nothing has changed. It was a beautiful statement.
