I discovered this article on npr.org. and found it a bit thought provoking. Some would argue stereotypical. But as you dig into the blog and read some of the essays, you find a treasure chest of humor and endless delights of the human spirit.

The initial NPR link: http://www.npr.org/blogs/pictureshow/2011/02/04/133401341/bornthisway?sc=fb&cc=fp

And the direct link to the photo blog: http://borngaybornthisway.blogspot.com/

Hmmm...I might just need to dig around in my photo albums.....

Man, can I relate to this!

Thanks for posting these links, Brandon. I suspect that most of us can relate to the bloggers and pics with our own experiences as kids. I'm thinking of one particular picture of me taken when I got a doll for Christmas. YIKES!

Brandon -- thanks so much for that. I can't help but flashing back to my childhood remembering my earliest thoughts. I have no pictures of me as a child, at least not that I know of. I've frequently talked about my journey here and that is part of my journey: remembering the early thoughts at the age of 8 or 9 and the attraction to boys and men. I can relate so much to those stories and it brings it all rushing back again. But it's interesting that the title is also the name of the new Lady Gaga song that is to be released on 2/13 -- Born This Way. I may be the oldest living Little Monster but I can hardly wait for the release of this song because the lyrics are simply amazing, and go right to the subject of the blog as well.

Thanks for the post BMW.

Well, I think you could dig through photo albums and find just as many photos of straight kids in similar poses and outfits. Kids are kids and they don't worry about whether they're standing the "right" way or not, etc. This blog just reinforces the stereotypes it wants to reinforce.

I can definitely agree with your perspective here, I had similar thoughts, but still got a chuckle out of some of the photos. My own photos reveal nothing that would indicate my sexual orientation as an adult, and I agree that many other kids photo's are just of kids being kids.
