Welcome to the wonderful, wacky world of terriers. As the t-shirt I proudly wear says "Life is Merrier with a Terrier"

 

The Jack Russells (actually the Parson Russell now) are a very close cousin to my breed the Smooth Fox Terrier. Animal Planet calls the SFTs the clown prince of dogs. "The smooths will test the limit of your patience, but at least you'll be laughing while you pull your hair out.. They paint outside the lines." And the Jacks are the same way. Creative, inventive with a big play drive. Jessie was having a blast. He was smiling the whole time. And it was fun to see.
