I don't watch a lot of TV, but I had heard about Glee and wanted to see it. I bought the season one DVD set, and I just recently finished watching Season 2 on iTunes. Anyone have any ideas on what will happen to the closeted Karofsky character? He seems so angry about being gay ( I understand where he is coming from as I still struggle with this). But he is so angry and so violent, I'm wondering whether the writers are planning to have him attempt suicide. If he 'succeeds' at that or he only injures himself-- you can just imagine the 'teachable' moment on Glee with them presenting the number of the National Suicide Hotline both on and after the episode.

I hope he doesn't kill himself. I hope a Glee episode can suggest several positive ways of dealing with anger and frustration.

If you read between the lines of what Ryan Murphy said in the past about future plans:

* Kurt gets a boyfriend

* It isn't Finn, and it isn't the blond kid, and it isn't Blaine

* It's a football player and they become the MHS power couple

It's reasonable to think they may "resolve" that storyline with a coming out.

Of course, that was all said before Darren Criss became hugely popular and went from "recurring guest" to being signed as a regular. So it's also possible all bets may be off there.

IMO, it would be a terrible choice to have Kurt and Karofsky become a couple. To believe that Kurt has been terrorized by Karofsky and then to become romantically involved with him is not possible.

Whaaaat, I haven't followed all the news from the creators and writers. I though just from the few scenes so far that Blaine and Kurt would become BF's. Still your right things can change. I read somewhere Sam was originally going to be Kurt's boyfriend and then they noticed how well he worked with Quinn. I wonder if the reason they booted Matt out of the show was that the actor couldn't sing because Sam 'his replacement' has a great voice. I also wonder if Mike Chang can sing-- even if he can't, he's a great dancer. He makes everything look effortless.

How quickly we (I) forget. Who was the Matt character? I don't remember anyone missing from Season One.

SFV

Matt almost never spoke. He was a football jock and one of the guys who danced the most with Mike Chang. In the 1st episode of season 2 they mention that he transferred away.

LOL SFV is so right. I had completely forgotten about this character. Kurt and Karofsky? It would be Glee to put them together, but bad for the show. IMO Kurt's character adds more as a single wanting to be attached.

Tried to post something last night and it did not work. The actor playing Karofsky recently (December??) was interviewed and said that his own character would be fleshed out a bit more in coming new episodes, and in a positive way for gays (something to the effect that he, the actor, was proud of the positive image it would finally project... so no suicide attempts there, I think).

I like how the creators of GLEE seem to go with the flow of the talent they discover. Knowing some young men who have gone to Hollywood to persue a dream and who start off as extras on GLEE, and then are noticed and soon are part of the ensamble, you can imagine how much of a pool the creators have. A few weeks back, again on the GLEEK blogs, there was mention of some of the starts "graduating out" and a new crop coming in, and then they added the Blaine character, and saw how very positively Derek Criss was received (and Derek was apparently as surprised as everyone else, but there is no denial that when Blaine and Kurt are together, there is something that is very uniquely endearing about their chemistry). Still lust to see the writers put into the script for this coming year's episodes a shower room scene from Blaine's private school.... sort of an all-boys school rendition of "It's Raining Men!"

Guys, I am coming to love the show, as I have told you since Christmas. But I am still sooooo dumb. Forgive me for asking these really dumb questions: Which one is Sam and which one is Blaine? Kurt announced he was leaving the school because of the bullying the last time I watched; doesn anyone know how the storyline will go? Finally, does anyone know how Darren (forgot the last name) will be integrated into the show? I was really happy to read that the Karofsky character would somehow get worked out. Please forgive me for asking all these questions. Thanks!

Seeker answered your first question. The others are on-going story lines so we don't know where they'll go. The Blaine character is working into the show nicely as a friend of Kurt's, and it's clear Kurt has a crush on him. Ryan Murphy has said they'll be no more than besties (although that was before Criss was signed as a permanent cast member).

The story resumes Sunday, following that football contest in Dallas. It's the "Thriller!" episode.

I was going to refer happyguy2 to Fox's Glee web site - but was surprised to see that neither Sam nor Blaine is listed under the 'cast' section. Overdue for an update, I think!

Wow. Somebody's agent needs a talking to! Chord Overstreet was signed as a regular before this season even started.
