I was just enjoying some of the posts in the gallery - one thread was about missing summer already. Well, Iposted that I gotta get back to South Florida soon. It has been over five years. Some people are telling me that Fort Lauderdale is now a better place for us than South Beach. Guys, what are your opinions? Are there other places you would recommend. Hey, maybe we could organize a get-together down there!

I have had a much better time in Ft Lauderdale than I have had in South Beach. Maybe it is my age, looks, attitude, or chemistry, but I found the guys, both locals and visitors in FL much more accomodating, friendly, less attitude, etc. than those in Miami or South Beach. The nice thing is that most of the escorts in Miami are willing to travel to FL too, so if you have someone you must see... well, there is a way. Check out the gay resorts in FL, and I am sure you can find a great place to enjoy.

I agree with the other replies: Lauderdale is more relaxed, has less attitude, and overall a better time. Never fear, you can get between the two easily (45 minutes max). You'll need a car in Lauderdale, though, whereas in South Beach having a car would be a hassle.

The gay resorts in Lauderdale are convivial and relaxing, if not five star accommodations. The sex club (Club Fort Lauderdale) is a lot of fun, the bars hopping, and there should be plenty of local talent to hire if you so desire.

I find the escort scene in Fort Lauderdale the best on the planet. Both the quality and quantity are excellent. And the strip joints are wonderful as well. It's like sensual heaven.

My problem with Fort Lauderdale is that the bars are about 5 miles from the hotels. I don't want to rent a car and drive after drinking or have to rely upon getting a taxi. On South Beach everything is close within walking distance.

I've never used it (not being a bog bar goer), but there used to be some van service that made a continual loop from the bars to the resorts and perhaps some other areas of interest. I think you paid a very reasonable flat fee for the evening and the friendly driver would ferry you pretty much where ever you wanted to go. The guys at the front desk should have the details.
