It's funny how some take this stuff so seriously. Don't get me wrong; I think it's great to give clients a chance to express who their favorites are and I think winning is a nice ego-boost and pat on the head, etc. But I also recall that when I won, I pleaded with Hooboy not to post it on my review page with that trophy icon. I'm not sure why; maybe I just felt a little embarrassed by it or that it made me seem slutty (sluttier?). Also, I've just never felt competitive toward other escorts. I think that if we're all doing a good job and making guys feel good (and feel good about themselves), then we're all winners...escorts and clients alike.

Ain't it the truth. Just how many "legit" voters were there? Will we ever know? Can anyone trust the information that's fed to us on this board (or any other escort board)? Seems to me, the number of voters barely equaled the number of escorts that earned accolades, which is the silliest math known to man. And why care about such small potatoes? It's all bullshit and we all know it.

I fail to see where Steven Draker exhibited any hypocrisy. Steven Draker admitted long ago that he created an alias on a board that permitted such behavior, a behavior supposedly intended to protect escorts who possessed a desire to speak their mind without financial ramification. One could argue, allowing escorts to "speak one's mind via an alias" begs to be abused.

 

OK, so Draker had some fun and used his alias to poke a little fun at others. (Personally, I enjoyed IceFireWizard. I thought his posts were harmless.) Draker admitted his faux pas long ago and apologized for it long ago, publicly. As far as I'm concerned, it takes MANLY balls to humble thyself in a public forum.

 

How the hell is it hypocritical for Draker to now say "as long as Daddy allows multiple identity posting on his MB there will always be abuse of similar type." Is Draker not allowed to speak the truth? Does Draker not have first hand knowledge of what's it's like to abuse this nonsensical provision that clearly taints the voting process?

 

Here's one thing I know: if you can't prove "legit" voters, then the vote may be a fraud. If you can't prove that an escort review is submitted by a legit customer, then some of the reviews will be fake. If a review website suffers from a lack of credibility, it may become a waste of bandwidth and expire.

 

Some of you girls need to grow up and donate a few dollars to Queen Daddy.

 

And, finally, why should Benjamin Nicholas care about an "Escort of the Year" accolade from this board? Is this board known for its vast number of members who can afford the elite service that BN markets himself to be? I suspect the vast majority of (very few) men who post here (with any regularity) are customers who book hourly because that's all they can afford or wish to spend on sex. It seems a no-brainer to me, the client that would make BN happy is the client who may read the reviews but pays scant attention to what goes on in this tiny sandbox.

 

AJ Irons is a good-looking, young, latino man with a tight, muscled body. He doesn't look old, worn-out, and pissed upon like a few previous winners. Time in this business will tell. I don't usually hire short guys and if I do, they're usually fair-skinned and blonde, like Tommy D. I enjoyed watching AJ fuck Tommy D but I preferred to watch Tommy, my kind of bottom. I have a feeling AJ's success will have nothing to do with recognition from this site. But if the accolade strokes his ego, and he likes that, then I say stroke on!

Since I am a numbers guy, I went through the thread and tallied it all up. Every 1 vote got 3 pts, every 2 vote got 2 pts and every 3 vote got 1 point... AJ Irons won, no doubt. But after that, well...

Okie -- a couple of things -- Now I had Ty First and Sean second so my position should be clear. But for accuracy sake, let's be fair. You did omit purplekow's second place vote for Sean (so add 2). And I'm not quite sure what or how you can/should distribute the vote/numbers for jeepman. Jeepman prefaced his votes by saying his were in "no particular order" which is the hanging chad of a phrase to me. Which is one reason why it's a bit tough. I certainly wish that modifier were not present. Now I did come up with the same total for Raul and did not look at the others as you did.

 

But we don't know anything behind the scenes info, nor should we. But I would propose one solution for next year: anyone who stuffs the ballot from multiple names has both/all names put in time out for a certain period of time to be determined by daddy/deej. This is not Chicago politics where we try to vote early and often.

 

And as a newbie, I would like some clarification as to the eligibility of prior year EOYs. I made an assumption that I don't know was correct and I should have asked. And that would have altered my voting.

 

But I do have nothing but respect and admiration for Daddy for doing this. As I said yesterday, the idea of the EOY (or some such similar process) does bring names to my attention that I might not have necessarily noticed for me to consider and for that I say thank you.

 

However, I would also concur with Rockhard's statement: "Some of you girls need to grow up and donate a few dollars to Queen Daddy.". Daddy -- did you ever consider filing as a 501©(3)? That might bring in more donations.

congratulations to all of the guys on this years list. Each is well deserved if you managed to bring as much joy to a client as this thread would suggest.

 

Now, I have read the various responses with amusement. One thing though, hasn't been stressed enough in this drama over voting and stuffed ballot boxes..(wouldn't stuffed briefs be better?) sorry.

That is no one knows how many clients responded to Daddy's question about who rocked their world via email. I did. I am not one who discusses my hires by name amongst folks I can't see (other than by review). At the Hooville gathering in Palm Springs I have talked to other clients about guys, and of course my personal friends from this board. But frankly, I didn't feel I wanted to list my hires on the MC. So shoot me. Care to cancel my vote? No problem. But for heaven sake, all this talk about rigged contests and whatever...Geesh, let the guys who won shine.

JH thanks for your post. You are right we and that includes me, I never intended to be a party pooper or rain on AJ's and the gentlemen listed's moment.

I had mentioned to a friend several weeks ago that there was the possibilty of posters potentially contacting Daddy directly. I do completely understand why you would not to post your vote publicly. Especially if you do hire a couple gentlemen. It could create an uncomfortable situation with those gentlemen.

EOY has been around for sometime. It is an event that is a two-edged sword first it helps create some creative activity on the board both in the voting and in the results. It does give gentlemen who have worked their butts some recognition. On the other side there will be some hurt feelings both client and gentleman. Given the drama that insues with some of us that can tend to overtake the intent of the recognition.

 

I enjoy this annual event, yeah I like a little drama, brings me back to the forum as this thread did. 12 months is a long time. Some gentlemen listed were more the first-half of the year, must see like Sean Knight and then you have the crew who came on strong down the stretch in recent popularity, AJ Irons (have to remember to include the Irons with Mr Justice back in the game) Brandon Williams and Tyger,

 

No sense in crying over spilt milk but it might have been best if DJ had not responded so specifically to Jimbo's Benjie comment and then "seem" to back track with response to NYT. The best response from management was in fact Daddy's, I would go so far to say that post already is at the top of the list for Post of the Year. None of us is perfect, but when you throw numbers around most of us can add 1+1 and have to be careful making general statements to specific responses. Being a number's guy that got my mind digging and I just had to comment I guess I could have done it privately, as well or on a separate thread.

 

Anyway still fun to discuss the year past and as Rockhard did say regardless of moniker of EOY, the proof for Mr Irons is how it translates to his bottom line. Even the continued conversation here is a bit of ad work for all mentioned.
