I should probably marry this show.

(That's incorporating the frequent retort..."If you love it so much why don't you marry it?") Yes, I did love this show.

But then again, I loved the Saturday morning version in the 1990s.

I was not alone in being thrilled to see all the friends from the playhouse...Chairry, Conky, the fish, the flowers, Pteri, Clocky, Magic Screen as well as the King of Cartoons, Cowboy Curtis, the original Jambi and Miss Yvonne. And we got to meet hunky new handyman Sergio, and a big-hosed fireman.

There's a new Penny cartoon, and lots of funny special effects. Jokes are definitely adult, (favorites included an homage to Katherine Hepburn) and yet, wouldn't offend a kid, because they wouldn't know what was going on. (Yes, there is a Viagra mention...and a postcard from a Pen-Pal in prison.) But there were only a few kids there on the night I went...only a house full of forty-somethings who were screaming at the mention of the secret word and laughing at how ridiculous it all was.

This is playing at the Stephen Sondheim theater until January 2, and Playbill.com has a discount. And it's on the half-price booth regularly.

I WILL be going to see this again.
