Went to see Bernstein's opera, "A Quiet Place," at NYC Opera this past weekend. In the part of "Junior," the gay son, is a stellar barihunk - Joshua Hopkins. Canadian. Even though they have him wearing a god-awful long-hair wig, you can tell he's hot. And there's a new CD release by him, English-language art songs, sizzling photos without the wig. He's one hot guy. With a deep sexy voice. (Married.... oh, well ... but worth listening to and seeing on the stage.)

Saw this on Friday, and I believe it's still around for one more weekend. I am not very skilled in opera audiencing, but enjoyed this quite a lot. A great oppty to see a seldom performed Bernstein piece in such a grand manner. The second act, which includes much of the earlier Trouble in Tahiti was the highpoint.

And yes, the wig is dreadful.
