RushNY might like this one. Yesterday, around 6:30pm after running around the city doing errands I went down into the 8th Avenue subway at 14th Street. The train came in really packed. I was all sweaty from running around and just pushed my way onto the train. Nothing to hold onto. As we took off I found myself staring at the back of this shaved-headed hunky looking guy in a dark suit. Meanwhile I had my sweaty back pressed into this guy behind me. Train took off and I'm staring a this hunk in front of me who starts talking to himself. A nut, I think. He turns his head and there's this curly wire coming out of his ear. Weird! Then I notice two more guys in suits with curly wires coming out of their ears. This is strange. Finally after a lot of lurching about we get to 42nd Street. I turn aound to get out and realize I've been crushed up against Mayor Bloomberg (worth 4 billion by the way). What the hell is he doing on the subway at rush hour? I totally forgot about this NFL party on Times Square, not being a football fan. Grid lock for days. The only way the Mayor could get there was by subway. The best part was when we got off the train onto the jam-packed platform. Not one person paid any attention to him. They just wanted on the train. I love New York.

Don't you read the paper young man? He takes the subway to and from work. The press made a big to-do about it in the beginning. I guess everyone has forgotten.

Helpfully yours,

To tell you the truth I "look" at the paper but don't really read it. My friends are astounded at how ill-informed I am. I think I acquire most of my information by osmosis. I figure if it's really important, sooner or later it will filter down to me. The upside is that I tend to be a really good listener at cocktail parties, which frankly I think most people prefer. I'm a master of the sincere nod.

...just returned from the Big Apple on Wednesday of this week--yesterday. ...love visiting the city, but those streets--sidewalks as well as streets--congestion for miles.

This, I think, was my fifth visit, and this time I noticed the traffic more and more. Had a fine, safe (unfortunately non-sexual time). I have a ticket for the latter part of the month, but I am hesitant at present as whether or not I should use it at this time. I should be keeping all of my pennies for Brasil and its men instead.

In conjunction with celebs of sorts not being noticed-- my cousins visited NYC during the spring and saw Ms. SEX IN THE CITY herself in one of the elegant high-powered boutiques. She attempted to go incognito but was recognized by my handsome nephew and his comely wife. Both have received looks on their own.

Anyway-thanks for relating this; it gave me an opportunity to pen a few words to the page.
