Yeah, Glutes. I can see why. Not bad. Not bad at all.

6'1"", 205 lbs. And he's a catcher (baseball you dirty minds, because he'd better be pitching with me). Catchers have to be the smartest ones on the team so he's got brains to, even if he did go to FSU. Well he has a 50/50 shot of having brains.

But I'd like to see it.

I still see Orange People

This kid Tim Lincecum (Pronounced 'lince-cum' or 'lince-e-cum') is also one of my favorites. "The Freak" pitched a 9 inning shut-out last night against Atlanta Braves...

Timmy is a freak in more ways than his arm, but mostly in a healthful way. :) Isn't it pronounced Lin-ce-cum? I like watching both him and Buster, too.

However, I started watching ATL back when TBS and WGN were the principal Super Stations and have followed them ever since. Now, of course, one can watch any team so long as the money holds out and they can stay up that late. :) Originally, like most area folks, I was a STL fan.

Best regards,

KMEM

And he's so cute with all that long hair flying.

I watched him pitch last night and it was just delightful watching all those big beefy batters swinging at air after the ball kicked up dirt in front of them. I can't recall ever seeing pitching mechanics quite like Lincecum's before. Can anyone here remember another pitcher with that slinky like motion?

His official stats say he's 5'11" and 170 lbs. The height looks right but I can't see the weight. More like 160 lbs, tops.

Wearing "The Tools of Ignorance". Never understood why the catcher's gear was called that because almost every baseball guy will tell you the smartest men on the team must be the catchers. So I think Buster should take those things off. Oh, and that uniform thing needs to go too. And anything else under that as well. Fine, now we're getting somewhere.

Atlanta • The San Francisco Giants celebrated their first playoff series win in eight years, then paused to honor the man whose career they had just ended.

As Bobby Cox came out of the Braves’ dugout to tip his cap to the chanting crowd one last time Monday night, the Giants stopped what they were doing on the other side of the field.

They began clapping, too, and tipped their caps in Cox’s direction. The Atlanta manager waved back.

Baseball is competitive, but it is still family. Godspeed Bobby Cox!

Thank you glutes. Very classy. Bobby Cox is certainly headed for the Hall of Fame. A manager who never received the full recognition he deserved. But the fact that all of his players -- current and former -- all sing the praises of this man like he walks on water.

He will be missed and it won't really seem like the Braves to me for a while with him not at the helm.

ROOKIES of the YEAR: Posey & Feliz

Congrats to hunky NL ROY Buster Posey (and Giants fans). But that's just half the story Glutes! Congrats also go to sexy Texas Ranger Neftali Feliz who won the American League Rookie of the Year award. I for one think Buster & Neftali make a cute couple:

(04-14) 13:54 PDT San Francisco (AP) --

Giants ace Tim Lincecum is giving $25,000 to assist the longtime San Francisco fan who was attacked outside Dodger Stadium last month.

The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner's donation will go to the Bryan Stow Fund to help with the 42-year-old paramedic's medical bills and other expenses. The father of two was beaten in a parking lot outside Dodger Stadium after the teams' March 31 season opener and remains hospitalized in Los Angeles in a medically induced coma. No arrests have been made despite a $150,000 reward.

nsc & kmem, marm alert!

The Orange People continue their good deeds:

(05-16) 17:50 PDT San Francisco -- The San Francisco Giants will become the first professional sports team to jump into the burgeoning anti-homophobia campaign with an upbeat "It Gets Better" video designed to bring hope to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender young people.

While celebrities, politicians and everyday people have posted more than 10,000 "It Gets Better" videos to YouTube to build awareness of the continuing problem of gay suicide and anti-gay bullying, no teams in the pro sports world have stepped forward to produce a video.
