Goddammit I'm so tired of this bu11sh!t! After all the attorney general attacks being leveled at Craigslist, they've shut down the last refuge of the "adult services" providers on Craigslist. All of my city bookmarks are coming up 404 page not found and on the CL city homepages a big "CENSORED" label in reverse color text covers the former location of the adult link. Meanwhile Canadian cities "erotic services" pages are going strong, Canadian boys still advertising free and proud! I'm so fu¢king envious! I guess just the next step towards what living in a theocracy feels like.

Meanwhile, AFAIK Backpage is one of the few remaining US sites that caters to ad-hoc amateur/part-time escort ads. I just wonder how much longer they can hold up against the great moralistic onslaught. And this is before the social-conservative supercharged moralistic bible thumpers are due to return in force to all levels of government this November. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

I'm completely ready for a long vacation up north to help our Canadian brothers enjoy their sexual freedoms.

I would say, as long as states like Kansas and Texas are part of the U.S., the views will never change. But this is actually more about Craigslist doing it to themselves. All the other escort sites and backpage don't be doing all of that.

If anything, it'll focus attention on more productive sites...not a site that rejects paid ads, then holds the money with no explanation as to why. If anything it was just a matter of time.

I agree they did it to themselves. It was never organized correctly posters breaking the rules to advertising which brought attention to it in the first place. For years that section was self monitored no one approving ads. Posters abusing it. that brought attention too it. by the time they started monitoring it making changes it was to late.

they will most likely slip their ads into the casual encounters or the m4m section. most will move to backpage adam4adam. in south Carolina georgia and other states the police used it way too much. I personally know 8 people that were charged in stings all from the craiglist.

About Craigslist itself, I don't care. It was the wild wild west, and while I browsed around once in awhile I never considered contacting anyone who advertised there. Too many unknowns.

My concern is more about what they'll go after next. We have to admit that escorts have largely been able to advertise openly on a number of specialty websites as well as to have homepages that leave no doubt as to their profession. One wonders how much longer this will be allowed to continue.

I for one am glad. Every pro I met on Craigslist turned out to be a meth head or a freak. I hope this change will help weed out the less than desirable providers as they transition to the main sites and are reviewed accordingly.

I can see that being true. Allot of massage clients i had told me they hired off there a few times mostly because they could get guys to do more for the same or less amount of money. But most felt ripped off. mostly druggies down on their luck types. I posted under the therapeutic section a few times but it was more trouble than it was worth
