The Gift of Fear

After reading about TomBuStone's experience in another thread (my groin still tightens up when I think of it) I was reminded of a good book somewhat related. Its called The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker. Its subtitled 'Survival Signals that Protect Us from Violence.' I read this book after to a stalking incident.

 

Tom indicated that things didn't seem or feel right, and his intuiton was correct. I think we can all recall when we were in a situation and our intuition has told us to flee - and our intuition is usually correct.

 

In the escort profession, what else can you rely on in that first few minutes with a new client other than your intuition? This book has a lot of advice and tools that could be of use to the escort (and, I suppose the clients, too!) when you need to evaluate the situation.

I read the same book by De Becker, it is wonderful. It should be used by everyone as a resource tool. 'If you feel something isn't quite right, you are probably right' is what I gained. And his forcasts are right on target with Columbine school shooting, kidnappings, etc., this is required reading.
