OK, so now CNN is following two gay men, who married and their attempt to become a partner with someone else to have a child. If this was a show to have Rush Limbaugh the asshole of the earth to protest gay men having rights to such adoption; well this was it. It depicted gay men in the worst situation, their surrogate as someone who would have paid money in a redneck area for anything and what follows. Yikes, wonder why things are so tough.

I thought it was quite courageous and representative of the myriad of legal and financial entanglements a gay couple need to hop through for equality.

To correct Rocky's subject title - these two men are not legally married but they are both the legal guardians of their surrogate child.

He'd talk trash no matter what was depicted. I don't think Limbaugh's reaction is ever anything to be concerned about.

Good for CNN.

Ugh. Your criticism of CNN's special on these two men wanting to have a baby is tedious and true to the maxim that 'no good deed shall go unpunished.' Some in the gay community are sad, bitter harpies that will never be satisfied. It was an attempt to show two fairly average guys living in NYC and trying to make a family. CNN never said these two and their story are representative of the whole LGBT community.

Agreed.

Amen! Couldn't have said it better myself.

well

I don't think rocky meant it that way.. I think rocky is frustrated how gays are treated by the media and he simply saw things in that perspective. Rocky isn't trying to be harsh on CNN or anything. For me when I'm not happy with things, I tend to see things negatively even though the situation isn't so bad. My guess is the same thing happen to rocky.

However, just to play devil's advocate, they also never said that they're NOT representative, lol (though I'd like to think they felt they didn't have the *need* to say that, of course) - so of course there are those viewers out there that will make the leap that these 2 gay men are just like all the others - and they'll only see the stereotypical behavior they want to see. A shame it has to be that way, but what can be done?

I started to watch the show, but made the bad choice of watching it in bed late at night, and wound up falling asleep midway through...I'm assuming it will be repeated again at some point?

Saturday and Sunday nights Gay Pride Weekend.

Thanks for the programming info, UWSman. I missed it the first time and want to see it. Imo, anything that might cause Rush Limbaugh heartburn is absolutely worth watching!
