I never before realized MD was so full of political strife. The founder's daughter or perhaps the "real" founder, Anna Jarvis, died in an asylum and fought against the "commercializaion" of the "day". What took Canada so long to recognize this day? :)

Best regards and happy mother's day to all of you mothers and those of you who have mothers. :)

Best regards,

KMEM

???

Canada - Canada was one of the first nations to pick up the US version of Mothers' Day, making it a national holiday in 1909, one year later the United States did. The customs largely reflect those of its southern neighbor, although in Canada there seems to be an added emphasis on doing chores for the Mother and cooking her supper.

One year later is one year later. :)

BTW, that is exactly what I am doing for my mom today, cooking one of her favorite meals and doing "chores". :) I am happy to do it and to be able to do it because she is still alive at 90+.

Best regards,

KMEM
