When you e-mail someone on rentboy.com, does it go to an agency or directly to the escort? Are the telephone numbers listed the agency's or the escort? Thanks.

I would think that the email goes directly to the escort or agency, but Rentboy probably also gets a copy of it. If you are emailing someone at an agency, I think it's highly unlikely that the guy would personally read it.

I recently e-mailed someone on Rentboy and it became clear to me that the e-mail DID NOT go to the escort directly. It goes to Rentboy, who in turn contact the escort. The escorts DO NOT have individual e-mail addresses. It took one week for the escort to reply and even then, he did not answer my questions. He said that I should telephone him if I wanted any info. I did not do that but that's another story. If you go to Rentboy and press the "send e-mail" button, you'll notice that the address is Rentboy. This appears to be a fairly new procedure. Could it be that they somehow get a cut of the escort's fee? Even then, how would they know if you hire the escort?

Oddly enough, I had breakfast today (socially) with a rentboy.com advertiser and asked him about it.

 

The e-mails do go directly to the escorts, but they go through rentboy's engine which means they're probably keeping count at the very least. That count will be used to get the guys to pay for the next three months. (You've received <n> great leads from us, why not keep the leads coming?) It's pure marketing.

 

rentboy.com is NOT an agency, and makes that clear in their TOS on their site.
