Rimming

I have been enjoying gay sex for many, many years. Goes way back to when topping and bottoming was referred to as Greek active and passive and oral was French active and passive. And even before. For the life of me, I cannot remember when rimming became popular or "out of the closet". Can anyone shed some light on when this very enjoyable and pleasurable act came into its own.

People have been rimming probably for as long as they have had tongues. So when it "came into its own" means nothing to me. Can you be more specific?

 

Shouldn't talk about rimming be in the Arts Forum as it is indeed an art...

Rimming is actually a basketball term. It stems from the action of the ball, after shooting, circling the rim of the basket, around and around and around until dropping through the net scoring the point(s).

 

Sometimes the rimming seems to last forever and not an inch of rim goes untouched by the ball. Other times, not so much.

 

Sometimes, depending on the shooters, a game has a lot of rimming. Other times, not so much.

 

Hence the term rimming as applied to this post.

My friend, who works in the financial services sector, tells me that he still occasionally hears straight Bay St types with BlackBerries saying "I'll RIM you."
