So guys, it's down to the Final Four. Who do you predict will win the 2010 NCAA Basketball Championship?

-Butler University Bulldogs

-Duke University Blue Devils

-Michigan State University Spartans

-West Virginia University Mountaineers

Duke

Sorry, Pegasus, but, overbearing assholes or not, they can sure play b-ball.

MsGuy, You are correct on both accounts. Duke has a storied and legendary basketball tradition, but...

Butler Who?

I'm so happy for Butler! It's amazing how far they've come to make it to the final championship game. How cool is it that they will be playing it in their hometown?! Admittedly, I didn't know anything about Butler University a month ago, but now I'm pulling for these guys to go all the way. Can U say "Cinderella"?

Pegasus, the 3 cutest kids on my floor of my freshman dorm were walk-ons on the Duke freshman basketball team, so I'm duty bound to root for Duke. [Freshman team? Boy, talk of dating yourself!]

I never have warmed up to Coach K though. I can see how he gets his players to buy in but he's a bit too slick for my taste.

Wow, that's hot, Msguy. Did you have any of those delicious Duke lacrosse players on your dorm floor?...OR even better, on the floor of your dorm room?!

Posted

LOL, if Duke had a lacrosse team back then, I never heard of it. One of my roommates had a near perpetual game of hearts or spades going on the floor of my dorm room, so, if you include the b-ballers, I can truthfully answer yes to your second question. The prettiest of the three was something of an exibitionist; sometimes it was really difficult to concentrate on my cards.

I came of age back in the 60's, pre-Stonewall. I was so deep in the closet, I didn't know it had a door. To be honest about it, had one of those boys come on to me, I would have dropped dead on the spot from a stroke, stripped every gear in my brain.

Toulouse, I see you're from New Orleans, my favorite city. Ever visit the Corner Pocket?

Butler's Coach: Sexy Midwestern Meat...

Does anyone else think the Butler University basketball coach, Brad Stevens, is Smoking Hot? He is an impeccable dresser with a tall, lean body, a firm butt, youthful & handsome face, and brilliant blue eyes. He may look all sweet and innocent but he displays an amazing sexual energy running up and down the court's sidelines during games!

Yes Coach Stevens is hot.

And, in a gawky boy next door way, Gordon Hayward is cute as hell.

Yeah, right on Jack. He's got that smoldering sort of sexiness to him, though he does look just a little young to me. He's 33, but if I saw him on the street I'd guess mid to late 20s.

As for Duke, I've tried to hate them over the years but just can't. They don't play dirty, they aren't obnoxious on the court, and Coach K is pretty respectable. They are only slightly offensive because they win so much. They just aren't anywhere near as awful as some of the more hate-able teams of the past. Think of the Georgetown teams under John Thompson, the UNLV teams of the late 80s, Indiana under that boorish brute Knight and Purdue under Keady. Those were teams you could really dig in against and hate down to the root of your soul. I don't think so with Duke.

Christian Laettner notwithstanding. I have to respect the programs and the results of Bobby Knight, Coach K, and some of the others you mention. As has been said before, politics is a dirty game and, so, apparently is NCAA sports.

Have to agree, both Stevens and Hayward are very cute.

Best regards,

The Butler Boys...

Oh yeah! Brad and Gordon would make one very sweet, sexy couple. Brad on Top, of course.:)

Yeah, the reason I can't hate Duke is because Coach K seems to run a clean program, the guys tend to graduate, they play good fundamentals and execute as a team without too much showboating (at least until a few ears ago, when I began to lose interest in college ball). But yeah, we'll keep Chrissy Laettner out of it for now.

Ditto with the Indiana teams under Knight. I think until a couple years before Knight got the boot he had the highest player graduation rate. And again, solid ball with awesome fundamentals. Never flashy to watch, but they got the job done. The reason I included Indiana was all about Knight. Chair throwing, head butting players, pushing students, and telling Connie Chung that if a woman is about to get raped, she ought to sit back and enjoy it (yeah, he said that). I don't care how brilliant of a coach he was or how much he won, the guy was ass that deserved getting fired years before it actually happened.

I always thought that those Gtown teams played overly aggressive ball, to the point of being dirty. I can't remember why I hated UNLV but I did. With a passion. Part of it was probably because I hate Vegas, and I got wigged out whenever I saw Tark wiping his forehead and then biting on that damn towel.

I can't believe how well Butler is hanging in there. Everytime I think Duke is starting to take possession of the game, Butler scratches back. Great game as of 1/2 time.

Great game Butler!!!!! To hell with Dook!!!!

I expect Butler to return to the Final Four next year. They have some great players (only one senior departing), and play awesome defense (which still wins championships as evidenced by tonight's game).

I am an adopted Butler fan! And I agree with you guys, their coach is nice eye candy too! :)

Congrats Duke!

What a terrific game tonight. Congratulations "MsGuy"--I hope you are celebrating! Although I was hoping Butler would prevail, Duke has a deserving team that is worthy of the championship title.

Thriller

What a Thriller. Butler was one basket from the National Championship.

I agree with jawjateck...We will be seeing more of Butler and their fresh-faced, hottie coach. And, that makes us ALL winners.
