For the record...

I support your right to wear ugly shoes too!

It's what makes America Great!...

The freedom to choose part...not the ugly shoes part.

Diversity is one of this country's saving graces and diversity is alive and well on this Forum. Responses to my post were diverse and respectful and I'm grateful for that. We can have different opinions and respect those who hold them. Thanks gentlemen for your civility.

A couple of comments:

1. I own a pair of Crocs but rarely wear them except at stoney beaches;

2. I live in New York, but not "the city."---those in NY will know what I mean

3. I volunteer at a hospital several times a week and have noticed that many nurses and other hospital workers who are on their feet for hours do wear Crocs---usually colour co-ordinated with their uniforms and almost exclusively worn by women.

Finally, a question for the younger posters---under 30???---Is there anything worse than a older (read 45,50+) wearing the latest "with it" fashion trends that gay men are sporting?? Sorry, I can't give an example, other than the stove-pipe tight jeans that I see from time to time. Those things were popular in the late 50's and if you are old enough to remember them from that period, you probably shouldn't be wearing them now.
