new Montreal municipal airport bus service

I received an email today from a friend about a new bus service between the Montreal airport and the downtown bus station at Berri Uqam...It appears that the city now has a route connecting the two locations at the low cost of $7 CAD each way.... Here is the link for those interested..http://stm.info/English/info/a-747.htm
Thanks Lurker; this is great news.

From the map, it appears that this new route has stops within easy walking distance (if you have wheels on your suitcase, at least) of the Novotel, Sheraton, Marriott CC, Hilton, and Hyatt, all hotels which come up with some frequency on priceline. The final stop is close to the Gouverneur. There's a stop at metro Lionel-Groulx, which serves both the orange and green lines for hotels not close to Rene-Levesque.

The $7 fare includes a 24-hour metro pass -- great for those who arrive on Sunday and have to wait till Monday to use a weekly pass.

Frequency of service approximates the (often unreliable) shuttle run by a private company.

The only downside is that the trip to the downtown hotels is scheduled to take 40 minutes. The old shuttle (and taxis) took half that. But with taxi fares pushing $40, the extra time might be worth it -- that's about 3 private dances on a round-trip :).
