As far as I know Frontline is the best product and there is no real substitute in terms of another form of medication. Try putting it on when he's asleep. BTW, I seem to recall the instructions saying not to rub it on the animal, something about how the liquid disperses. Fleas and ticks can cause serious harm so keep trying to figure out how to apply it.

thanks

I will try to do that when he's asleep then. He usually wakes up even if I move a little bit. Such a cute cat. :)

In the past I used Advantage, but recently my cats haven't needed it. Does your cat actually have fleas or are you applying "just in case?" I would suggest that you see if he gets fleas. If he does, have your vet or groomer give him a flea bath and apply Frontline or Advantage.

Is this an indoor cat or does he go outside?

He goes everywhere

He likes to go out and explore. He is so smart and able to avoid moving cars. He sometimes walk along the side walks. He usually comes in whenever I call him. I use it just in case. Thank you for your advice.

I will stay off my outdoor cat soapbox, but I will say that I hope you don't live near a canyon. Kitty won't be a match against a coyote.
