No, not you! Just the guys who really are signed in to Amazon and can rate books. I thought maybe we could work um, together!

With all due respect, I believe this is bad idea. I write reviews for Amazon on books, CDs and DVDs. Occasionally, I spend a lot of time carefully reviewing books or CDs that mean a lot to me. It is nice to to go back, and see both the positive ratings and interesting comments from others.

 

I feel as if my time and effort was appreciated.

 

I have seen Amazon reviewers receive forty or fifty positive ratings within 24-72 hours of posting an okay, but not great, review of a relatively obscure book or CD. I know immeadiately that the reviewer has gotten the word out to his friends, few of whom either read the book or listened to the CD. Isn't that what you are suggesting by your post?
