Does anyone actually get the Starz channel? Spartacus begins a 13-part series on Friday:

There was a "centerfold" in the cover of a Sports Mag that I get at work. I think it was ESPN... but I am not sure... At any rate, I unveiled it expecting to see some sports celeberty... but instead... YUM!!! WOW!!!! HOT!!! A sizzling scene promoting Spartacus...

Unfortunately I don't get Starz...

You'd be smoking hot....

You're too kind but I don't hold a candle to some of the men in this upcoming show! I would like to get a sample kit of them. ;)

in a loincloth and maybe a leather chest harness. You can fall on my sword anytime!

Already programmed the dvr...

Read an article that the producers are going out their way to make is as sexy and salacious as "Rome"... here's hoping we get plenty of time in the baths after all the fighting..

In the movie, I seem to recall a very homo erotic (is there really any other kind???) scene with a very young Tony Curtis...

Spartacus––Snails & Oysters

The Kirk Douglas "Spartacus" paired Tony Curtis as Antoninus the slave and Laurence Oliver as Marcus Licinius his master in the homo erotic bath scene.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Do you eat oysters?

Antoninus: When I have them, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Do you eat snails?

Antoninus: No, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Do you consider the eating of oysters to be moral and the eating of snails to be immoral?

Antoninus: No, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Of course not. It is all a matter of taste, isn't it?

Antoninus: Yes, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: And taste is not the same as appetite, and therefore not a question of morals.

Antoninus: It could be argued so, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: My robe, Antoninus. My taste includes both snails and oysters.

To the original Poster: Thanks for the alert on the STARZ series. It's my favorite period in history.

Mansniffing,

Movie trivia, this scene was cut from the original version and then added in the "remastered" copy in the 1990's. The audio track was "lost" and had to be dubbed. Anthony Hopkins provided the voice over of the Olivier lines.

And yes "remastered" would be a pun. ;)
