Madrid Help/Hotels

Does anyone that has visited have any advice on hotels where you can have guests, etc? Any info would be great.

I recommend the Hotel de las Letras (hoteldelasletras.com). It's on Gran Via, so it's near the gay bars of Chueca, but also the Prado and many of the other bug museums. I had no trouble entertaining in my room, and the bar downstairs makes the best gin and tonic ever.
