Stark Sands- Up and Coming Actor

Yesterday I went to a performance of Bonnie & Clyde, the musical, at the LaJolla Playhouse. It may be Broadway -bound as it is, in my opinion, pretty good, although a little too long. (The reviews were mixed.) Since it closed yesterday, not much point in writing about it unless it does go to New York.

But, the actor who played Clyde, 30-year old Stark Sands, was dynamite. He already has a Tony nomination for Journeys End, a tense drama about war.

Starks, I guess unfortunately, looks 18. Clyde was between 21 and 24 when he went on his robbery binge, so that works to his favor, except that in a suit he does look younger. But is acting was phenomenal, and that leaves me short of a stronger adjective to describe his singing. His voice is just beautiful. Every time he sang I just melted.

He did have some shirtless scenes in the show, and also showed an inviting butt when he hopped out of a bathtub. Since robbers don't sunbathe, Starks was lily-white naked. I guess from these photos it is safe to say he likes to go shirtless.

(One review sort-of complained about the constant showing off of his ripped-torso.)

 

So, I liked Stark as Clyde, and hope he does make it to Broadway- again.
