Hi robbguy, :7

Well it couldn't be simpler. Hooboy or whoever(Daddy I guess) designed the software has made it really easy.

Let's say, robbguy, you want to post this picture:

http://www.dikdigler.hpg.ig.com.br/ng/images/0130_jpg.jpg

All you do is right click the picture and copy the URL from properties...then paste it here. Try it with this pic and paste it in the the reply box.

The difficult part comes with finding images that are linkable. It seems that as the economic downturn hit the computer industry software that blocks image transfer has become almost universal...but there are still plenty of sites that still allow it and a few that even encourage it.

Hooboy doesn't want you to use his resources to post images so you'll have to link to an image on another site.

Good luck and post a lot of pics!

Slight clarification. Nobody wrote software for this site. It's commercial board software that was purchased.

Economic downturn? Huh? Try protection of intellectual property, known in the US as copyrighted material. :-)

...and robbguy... be sure to check that the link is active by previewing before posting.

Almost all sites "steal" pictures for their own use (usually from newsgroups) and by posting them here I guess I'm re"stealing" them. It's such a common practice that most commonsensed people ignore it.

Actually, only the uninformed ignore it.

Sports and Recreation Video recently served notice to a website I'm part-webmaster of threatening legal action if we didn't immediately remove their copyrighted PUBLICITY photos which were legitimately provided to us for PUBLICITY.

Falcon's lawyers have shut down several sites over the last year because of copyright infringement. With Falcon, we have blanket permission to use their publicity materials ON OUR OWN SITES. It specifically forbids us posting the stuff on other sites.

Declaring it "common practice" doesn't make it legal, and doesn't make it safe. :*

Hi,

O.K., now I know how to post a pic from a website, thank you, Les! How do I post a pic from my own files? Do I type in C:/ and then the file name? I plan on taking lots of pics when I am in Rio in October and want to be able to share them. Thanks. Robbguy

It has to be an http:// address, which means it has to exist on a web server somewhere.

There are plenty of free sites that will let you upload your pictures and then you can link them from there.

Just steer clear of sites like geocities and yahoo (and AOL) who have Terms of Service that forbid adult content.
