Oh my

it sounds like a viagra add or something like that.. or a porn title.

It's a book by Andrew Ross Sorkin (NY times journalists)- The inside story of how wall street and washington fought to save the financial system- and themselves.

I think it is a good book. I should be done within in a couple of days so if anyone wants to read it let me know. I can send you my free copy.

Another thing is how about forming a book club. Lookin and DuchessIvanaKizznhugg can post some cyber gingersnaps and tea (graphics) for our virtual book club meeting to promote our book club. MsGuy and Purplekow will be our facilitators. Of course our Lucky will be the chair. I know Lucky loves books. Everybody can participate. Anyways, I have a free copy of "Going Rogue" if anybody wants it.

Very good idea. I wonder if we could all read the same book at the same time. I was thinking that The Godfather of Kathmandu would be a good choice. Of course I haven't read it, since it comes out January 12th, but it is by John Burdett, whose previous novels have received favor in the Asia Forum.

As for the Sorkin book, he made a lot of enemies at the NY Times over it. They don't like him much, especially as he seemed to claim credit for something another reporter got first.

Warren Buffet favorably plugged the Sorkin book at his recent town hall meeting with Bill Gates at Columbia Business School that was televised on CNBC. CNBC has been airing reruns of the meeting (titled “Buffet-Gates”) for several weeks. Definitely worth watching if you can catch it. The book club sounds like a good idea.

a) Vanity fair takes on Goldman Sachs:

b) I would be glad to have someone else head up the book club--eeyore?

c) Another idea is a gay novel, such as The 38 Million Dollar Smile by Richard Stevenson.

Product Description

Gary Griswold, cheerily dim gadfly scion of Albany old money, late of the Key West artists colony, goes missing, and his ex-wife wants to know what's happened to him - not to mention his 38 million dollars in cash. Turns out that religious dilettante Gary and his money have disappeared into Thailand, where corruption has its own etiquette. Soon, Albany's only gay PI, Don Strachey, is out of his element, and his lover Timmy is way out of his comfort zone as they comb the Land of Smiles for a man with an unerring weakness for the poorest choice possible and a daft plan to buy 38 million dollars worth of good karma. #10 in the award-winning Donald Strachey Mystery Series

It has two five star reviews.

I didn't know that thanks. Yeah we can just post book reviews on here and everybody can share their opinions or thoughts about them. Anyways, a good suggestion Lucky! I will look into the book you've recommended.
