There seems to be so much rage in these forums. I cannot imagine that people, assumed to be adults, take what is written so seriously. Yet many of you do so.

If there is a thread I am interested in I post once. If I cannot say everything I want regarding my point of view in one post that is a problem. I never post twice in the same thread nor do I ever respond to obvious baiting posts back to me.

But so many of you seem to just have to get that last post in, correct that typo, or make sure every person who reads this understands you only stay at the best hotels and eat at the finest establishments. Why?

BTW, while you all have been trying to out do each other you missed a clue HooBoy left for you, well those who read the flames about him posted under the name Miguel. He didn't want to name Miguel's roommate yet some felt it was I Moore. Well, here is another clue for you all, The roommate might be a giant and giants can fall. Well, this one did :)

I believe HooBoy's clue was Cheers

Thats the thing about places like this, people can come and do what they want under a cloak of invisibility, you dont know their real names, what they do,where they live etc in a majority of the cases so it allows someone to vent their spleen at whomever and whatever they feel displeases them.

Obviously some people take this place more seriously than others and get sniped at into the bargain because someone feels that if you post about a certain topic that isn't deemed "good"enough then some people will criticise.

I've realized that the best thing is not to take it seriously at all otherwise you will end up more angry than can be healthy especially if you have or hold views that do not tally with the majority of other people who may post or contribute in some way .

In my thread on whether people would miss the Lounge if HooBoy ever decided to pull the plug people got the impression i think that i was criticising some threads the truth as that the question i put was the simple would you miss it if it were gone ?,personally i dont care what people think or write about me but some will and thats how the dramas start over differences of opinion, but because the protaganists are in cyberspace the insults are much worse than if they met face to face and argued over sexuality, politics,or whatever was on their mind.

Everybody has their own way of looking at life and so people will NOT agree on everything,if you find that one post per thread does all it needs to then good for you, others will post more than once, thats their way is there a wrong or right way to behave here-yes of course but ultimately HooBoy decides along with the moderators who steps over the cyber-line,whether your guess to who the mystery troublemaker was who knows !,maybe you're right maybe you're wrong but as someone said earlier these things tend to happen every 3/4 months and no doubt will happen again-The only way this place will change is if the people who post and contribute change but as its very easy to post comments and insults from the comfort of your home or office without anyone knowing who you are i doubt it anytime soon ,anyway its cheaper than therapy..........

What about you? I just read a post from you in the 'Ask' section. You told Rod Hagen that if his clients read his posts they must be brain dead.

A lot of people who hire escorts do it because they are very insecure about themselves. The same problem makes people unable to tolerate opinions that are different from theirs, so I would expect a message board about escorts to be very intolerant and argumentative.

It is an ego trip. If a person can see all those who disagree with him as being stupid or evil, he can see himself as being morally and intellectually superior.

Yes, but he said that with love.

When I first encountered this thread and began to read some of the messages, I decided NOT to respond. I have been a participant for over six months, and presently, (during the past month or so), I have not discerned the VENOM and RAGE as mentioned by the writer of this thread.

At one point, I don't recall the month, I read so many prissy and bitchy accounts that forced me to respond to the ludicrousness.

Ok, guys, forget about last week's (possible mistake) and MOVE ON, as they say. Think about some timely topics and let the fingers play with the keys on the computer by your drumming out something worthwhile.

Well, I thought he was just trying to help with warmth And love.

I would add that anonymity facilitates lots of good things, too, not just bitching and sniping.

It allows people to ask potentially embarrassing questions, or to seek advice that for whatever reason they feel they can't ask of others.

And, as we've seen from time to time, a persona can be interestingly developed, sometimes even into a full-blown character. (TruthTeller leaps to mind unbidden.)

I believe that many here are much too quick to assume that what gets posted is what that individual would tell them were they face to face. Hell, trolling is half the fun of participating in Internet communities. Similarly, it's also fun to speculate about the source of multiple identities. Unless it becomes obsessive, in which case the exercise is simply a fool's errand and, need it be added, of scant interest.

And that's the view from here.

As you were.

P.S. I didn't post to your thread about the break-in, but I liked the story. Gay lovers, both cops... You ought to offer yourself up for study or something. :+

The Lounge is fairly peaceful just now, so am a little surprised about

the charge of "all that rage." The point about posters developing into

vivid characters on this site was right on target. I have seen it happen often, it's cool to see someone develop his M4M personality ideas more and more with each post. Yes, Truth Teller did that, but so many of his postings were direct personal attacks on other people that it was difficult for me to enjoy his development. Often his postings defined "rage."

It's an Internet thing. Battle for the last word. And I think people argue themselves into these little cul-de-sacs and then don't know how to get out.

If you want to see how truly bad an internet message board can be, visit radvideo.com. It requires no registration and has no moderation.

I just made my semi-annual visit there and I see Kent Barclay has found a home for his twisted smear campaigns against his current object of disaffection, Christian Owen. It makes the arguments around here look like a church picnic. False identities and absolute lies are rampant, and I know they're false because in about 10 minutes I read 3 false descriptions "written by" guys who weren't there. (I *was* there.)

Be thankful for what we have, guys. It could me MUCH worse.

Aaaaarghhh!!!

You just brought back a whole host of repressed memories ...

It must be at least 18 months since I last saw the name

Kent Barclay - I obviously succeeded in erasing him from

my conscious memory - and now I've remembered him again - ughhh x(

( and before anyone asks "who's Kent Barclay?" let me assure

you that if you are lucky enough not to know the answer then

you really *do* want to stay that way )
