Yankees Win, Theeeeeee Yankees Win!

I lucked out and had tickets to Game 6 and it was a great nite to be there for the clinching game. I attended Game 1 too and needless-to-say it was not a fun nite for a Yankees fan. We arrived early last nite for dinner at the Yankee Tavern near the old stadium and got into our seats in time for the first pitch. There is no better place to be than Yankee Stadium and NYC to celebrate a championship for a great team. It was great this year that the awards ceremony was done on the field after the game and it was fun to watch the players circling the field to thank the fans. The Yankees should thank the fans in light of the high prices this year for a beer ($9) and a hot chocolate ($10) not to mention parking ($30). Thankfully, we did most of our celebrating at the Yankee Tavern enjoying $4 beers. I'm already looking forward to the rematch of Yankees/Phillies in Clearwater Beach for spring training in March. Looking forward to attending the parade tomorrow in NYC. Is anyone going? Let me know and maybe we can meet up to celebrate. JD

Njbaseballjock... I liked the title of your posting:

Yankees Win, Theeeeeeeeeeee Yankees Win!

All season long I tended to listen to the games on the radio with the sound turned down on the TV... and it is always so exhilarating to hear John Sterling at the end of the game proclaim, "The Yankees win! Theeeeeeee Yankees Win!" With all due respect to the YES team, somehow the TV announcers just don't get to the heart of the game... Even worse are the announcers on FOX. The radio is the closest to the "good old days" of Frank Messer, Bill White, and that most "unbiased" of broadcasters... Phil Rizzuto.

Enjoy the parade!

The worst announcers

Actually, the worst announcers were the games on TBS. Yikes, these guys sucked. The parade was great today and John repeated his signature clsoing of all Yankees' games...Theeeee Yankees win. I love NYC and the Yankees.

I forgot about (actually totally repressed) TBS... and during the regular season the ESPN guys were not exactly too swift either!

It's great that you represented us at the parade. I am actually getting into NYC today... a day late and more than a dime short! I was almost hoping for a game 7 so I would be in town for the celebrations. Still, I am not sure if I would have had the energy to camp out for a good location... perhaps the old (that is younger) version of me would have! So in the final analysis, it all ended perfectly the way it did!

Yankees Rule!
