I'm a long-time fan of Van Darkholme, and had collected his "home made" videos featuring bondage and S&M. One of the nice features is that there is also a discussion board on which he solicits feedback from subscribers about what they want to see, and to the extent feasible tries to incorporate these various fantasies as he makes new videos. One of the things that persuaded me was that the trailers (about 2 minutes) for many of his videos had shown up on the free sex video site, dudevu.com, and having viewed many of them I was persuaded it would be worth my while to subscribe. Yes - I agree. I joined boundgods.com soon after it was up and running. I think it is about the best bdsm video site around. New releases come every Thursday and most releases are about an hour long. Some of it can be repeatitive but Van tries to vary the settings and fantasies. There are several tops and bottoms who are clearly above the rest and they are brought back for additional offerings. I fould the best bargin is the annual fee which makes it quite affordable for unlimited viewing. If this type of scene is your thing...it is worth taking a look.

I agree that Van's films can get repetitive at times. That was true of his own home-made films before he started working on this site - but it's a common problem with gay porn in general. Many filmmakers seem to think that you need to see the same motions repeated for five minutes before you want them to change position, but I prefer the films that look like they are capturing real sex in real time, and from my experience one never repeats the same thing for too long....

 

Of course, one quickly discovers that there are ways to move the cursor forward a minute or two when the action seems to be getting into a rut.

I really don't get off by watching porn, but if I did the Bound Gods website would be my cup of tea. I personally am content with checking out the trailer every Thursday. It is actually one of the highlights of the week and is a good source for "ideas". We certainly have come a long way from the S&M videos of the past century where things were really quite tame... and one would have to be content with just a modicum of action... Quite a lot of the activity that takes place on these BoundGods.com videos gets me achingly hard to imagine myself into, but I know from experience that in real life I probably would not enjoy a fair amount of it. Just from viewing the trailers quite a bit of the action is way over the top, really overly severe, and not the "norm" (what ever that is!) for a majority of those that get into S&M. Still, it seems quite real (not the sissy WWE type floggings that used to pass for the genuine article) and in that sense I find them quite impressive. Not seeing the videos in their entirety I wonder if they were all filmed in real time or were done in bits and pieces with time for recuperation in between scenes. Of course, viewing only the trailer makes things seem quite concentrated.

Exactly, the key is finding someone who can help you navigate that fine line between pain and pleasure… and that can change depending on one’s needs and mood. So dudevu.com is gone. And other free sites I've visited don't have teaser vids from boundgods.com. But you can see a teaser on the boundgods.com site. Van posts a newly made video every Thursday, and some of them are based on spontaneous group sessions he holds in that big industrial building where they do the shooting.

 

As to whether it's all real time activity or carefully staged and edited together... I think it's a bit of both. That is, it seems like long stretches of real-time activity using a few cameras, but they obviously have downtimes between scenes, if only because there are fades to black and then the picture comes on with the sub already bound in some predicament. He doesn't spend lots of time showing you the dom putting the sub into a particular position.

 

I've noticed, however, that in recent weeks he has fallen into some more predictable routines and sequences, so it is time to freshen things up a bit. Happily, however, when you subscribe you have access to the entire archive, which is now quite extensive.
