I had to deal with a young man from a credit company yesterday. His voice was so mesmerizing... I didn't pay attention to him talking... oh anyways.. I didn't like how that company dealt with its customers. The company is on a life support from the federal government and still has not learned its lesson. I do appreciate a lot of innocent employees at that company and want them to keep their jobs but some of them are doing things extremely illegal. Some managers lie and exploit agreements... I don't know how they can go to sleep at night. BTW some of them dine and wine with the company business accounts at luxury restaurants. I just want to pour whatever they are drinking over their heads. But in the business world you have to put on a face and smile.. So I terminated my account with that credit card company. That young man, however, didn't lie or use other tactics to keep my business. I sense that he wanted to do the right thing and I wanted to acknowledge him for that. A lot of foreigners are hired in the management positions and in order for them to keep their jobs in US, some of them are ready to do anything even illegal. In some cases, employers exploit that fact and can get illegal things done without even instructing foreign managers what to do. It doesn't happen a lot though. There are also many good international managers and I am not against hiring them. Last year, a foreign manager gave me a "seemingly" good deal but there was a catch she hid in that deal. This guy was honest and I do appreciate him for doing the right thing. If he is gay I would love to go out with him. His voice was so soft... Oh back to my point.. Some credit card companies need to change their ways of doing business and they should be satisfied with having bread on the table rather than doing things that would negatively affect other people. I love a designer clothing but I would not steal money from other people to wear that. It is unfortunate.

Some people look down on China but when this country weakens, it doesn't take a lot for China to become a superpower. Of course when USA is a dragon and China is a cat then China can never be a superpower. However, when this country falls to a level of a rat then China will be a superpower whether we like it or not.

There's a hilarious scene in the movie Slumdog Millionaire in which the hero ends up looking for an absent friend in his cubicle in an Indian call center. I can well imagine your call forwarded to one of these outfits and the person on the other end of the line not aware of what is and is not legal in the US. They are allowed to say the exact words before them on the elaborate formularies from which they work. A situation that has more than a linear solution is not allowed.

As for the banks, they are the scum of the economy. I was a banker for much of my career but never at this low level. I'm now embarrassed to disclose what I did with my career. If it's any satisfaction, none of the five banks I worked for is still in business. I can only hope that these goniffs will meet the same fate and soon. The sooner they lose these jobs, the sooner they can get into a more honorable occupation.

I don't think we are different from people 100 or 1000 years ago. It's not the people who became extremely bad... It's the system.. Those companies hire extremely smart people who can generate a lot of money by manipulating the system. When government tries to intervene it is always too late. Since they don't care as long as they become rich and maintain their wealth, anything is possible for them. Once they corrupt a smart naive college or MBA graduate with the taste of money, then it is very easy to control them. Those newly corrupted graduates later become the exact same people who hired them, if not worse. A vicious cycle. It should end but the end is not near. TV media always show flashy and fancy things. Buy Buy Buy.. Spend Spend Spend.. Try to convince people that they need something that is unnecessary in their lives. It is just unfortunate...
