Warning 2 Escorts: Beware of Using Pour Ton Plaisir

The new escort website, Pour Ton Plaisir, have caused me a lot of grief & I advise you to avoid them.

3 days ago, I did a Google search for my legal name. I was shocked to see an entry for an escort website called Pour Ton Plaisir with which I'd registered a couple of months ago. When registering, there is a field which asks you to enter your real name. Perhaps foolishly, I did so since it specified that this field would not be visible on my profile, and thinking that it might create problems if I did otherwise if I later wanted to upgrade to a paid membership. I certainly never imagined that this information would be made publically available via a Google search!

I immediately fired an email off to them, explaining my dismay at their lack of discretion, & demanding that they immediately remove my profile & name from their system. Today, they replied that they had deleted my profile & fixed the problem so that no real names would come up on Google. They also said that the problem would be finally solved when Google re-indexed all of their pages. In the meantime, the issue remains.

The possible implications of this are considerable - I have no idea who else might have decided to Google my legal name or who will do so before Google re-indexes. There are reports that it is becoming common practice for immigration on both sides of the Canada/US border to use Google in screening travellers.

Does anyone have any idea how often Google re-indexes? Should I contact Google directly? Is there any other action I should take?

Mark, If I were you, I would not place my trust in a site that has created this situation. They may have tried to pacify you with some positive comments, but I would still go the extra mile and directly contact GOOGLE.

Since I have no knowledge or expertise here, I'd be very interested to hear the outcome. I'm sure it will not only benefit myself, but several readers here.

Google reindexes for your PR every three months.

Googlebot crawls your site more frequent if you are more popular (high PR, lot of quality links). Some sites are visited by Google daily.

Update

Thanks for the info, Devon. I'm certainly not content to wait up to 3 months for Google to re-index. It turns out that when you follow the 'show all results' link, there are 10 pages of search results connecting my name to PTP!

I tried using Google's URL removal tool on some of the links, but all of my requests were denied. I have emailed Google support describing PTP's breach of privacy, requesting that they delete all of the URLs associating PTP with my name & possibly the site itself from their web search results. Awaiting reply. I have exchanged more emails with PTP who say that they have also asked Google to remove the URLs.
